The Doula's Role in Relieving and Managing Perinatal Depression

  • 9 Steps

About

This program breaks down the important role doulas play in supporting new and expectant moms who may be struggling with depression during and after pregnancy. You’ll learn what perinatal depression is, why it happens, and how it affects not just moms, but their babies and families too. Through easy-to-understand lessons, you’ll discover how to spot the signs that someone might need help, and how to offer support in a caring, respectful way. The course also covers how to talk openly about mental health, reduce the stigma around it, and work with others to make sure moms get the help they need. By the end of this course, you’ll feel confident in your ability to be a supportive friend, family member, or future doula. You’ll gain valuable skills in empathy, communication, and teamwork—skills that are useful in any career or life situation.
